Well, here we are 10 years on from one day in 2001 when I got a demo in the post from Jason Kohnen, otherwise known as Bong-Ra. “Riddim Wars” was the title of the very first vinyl on Deathsucker Records, and it sold out pretty damn fast! What followed was 34 releases from some of the biggest and best names in the Breakcore scene.

The term Breakcore may have become a bit of a dirty word in the ever-evolving underground music scene. However, what remains is the ethos of mutilated DIY dance music that can be heard across the board of the multiple genres that exist today.

So, to celebrate this wondrous milestone I’ve constucted a DJ mix taking one track from every release on Deathsucker to give you a taste (and maybe a reminder) of the variety and delight of those 10 years. The mix will be made available with every purchase at DSWAT.net for this month.

If you like what you hear, play it loud and spread it around..good music is something to be enjoyed and shared. Some of these released are still available on vinyl or CD. Alternatively, you can purchase the catalog digitally from the shop. By supporting the artists and the labels, we can continue to bring ground-breaking music to the people!

On the A side legendary MC Demolition Man flexes his vocal chords for the klezmer-jungle infused “Fire RMX”. On the flip Alboroise’s “Herbalist” get’s The DSC treatment with kicking snares and thumping sub-bass. Cut in the UK and limited to 300 copies worldwide.

Following her first European tour Foxdye‘s brand spanking new 12″ vinyl has gone to the pressing plant! There will be a very limited run on multi-coloured vinyl with stunning artwork by Kinoko. DSR36 Foxdye 12″ by Deathsucker Records

Krumble’s long awaited masterpiece “Autobahn / Bass Line Vision” has finally been released on loud 12″ vinyl. Limited to only 300 copies Worldwide, this fine release will cause waves on any dancefloor with it’s catchy synth bass hooks and choppy breaks. This will appeal to breakcore fans and drum & bass heads alike. The 12″ can be purchased directly from DSWAT.net, or download the MP3 version here.

Deathsucker Records has licensed some music by Monster Zoku Onsomb‘s Phillip Thomson and Armin Elsaesser (aka Parasite) for the new Playstation3/PSN game Eat Them! by FluffyLogic. The game was released in Europe & USA in December 2010, and to promote the music Parasite has done a little DJ mix featuring music from the game. Have a listen and if you like what you hear go buy it…it’s only £6!!!
